As a BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Colin Matthews is trained and experienced in a variety of therapies. Generally, he works integratively. That is, he makes use of his psychology training to help clients understand more about what might be going on and, as necessary, calls on his expertise in various types of therapy in order to enhance that understanding. For example, he may use attachment theory to understand the dynamics between members of a family or partners in a relationship and use CBT methods with individuals to help them challenge specific thoughts about themselves and others in their family or relationship.

At your consultation session, after hearing what you want from therapy, Colin will discuss with you how you might work together to achieve your goals.
