Referral Management

When you refer a patient or a family to Colin Matthews, he will keep you informed at every stage as to what is happening with regards to your referral.

Within 2 business days of receipt of the referral, Colin will contact the patient by telephone to discuss the referral with them. He will agree a consultation appointment at this point if they decide to proceed with the referral. He will then advise you in writing at this point the date of any consultation or that he has discharged the patient as they do not wish to proceed.

Within 5 business days of the consultation appointment, he will let you know in writing the result of that assessment. This will include presenting issues, a formulation of the presenting problem and recommended treatment.

If therapy is advised and taken up, you will be told when that therapy ends, what form the therapy took and how the presenting issues have changed as a result of that therapy. If the therapy is over 6 months, you will be advised as to progress on a 6 monthly basis.

Colin is happy to receive enquiries at any time during the process.
