Colin Matthews has recently developed a library of materials on chronic pain for the Pain Management Unit (PMU) at Poole Hospital. This library consists of books, DVDs, CDs, tapes and web-based information for health professionals and patients. Where appropriate, patients will be provided with information on good self-help resources in addition to existing treatment. Practitioner books on pain management are mainly recent publications and inform staff working with patients suffering chronic pain of the latest recommended interventions and research findings

The materials cover the most common causes of chronic pain including fibromyalgia, arthritis and cancer and address the psychological, social and physical aspects of pain.

The pain management links to the right list all the web-based resources recommended to the PMU.
