Treatment & Courses for Patients

Consultation appointments and Therapy:

The following services are offered to adults, children, couples and families.

• Psychological assessments, including diagnosis and risk assessment.
• Psychological therapy using evidence-based therapies (e.g. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT))

Treatment is offered for (but not limited to) the following (adults):

• Anxiety
• Depression
• Bereavement
• Low Self-Esteem
• Panic and Agoraphobia
• Phobias (e.g. vomit, driving, heights)
• Anger management
• OCD
• Pain Management
• Trauma (including RTA, violent crime and CSA)
• Bi-Polar Disorder
• Psychosis & schizophrenia

Treatment and/or advice is offered for (but not limited to) the following (children):

• Depression
• Challenging behaviour
• Bullying and peer group difficulties
• Eating, sleeping and toileting problems
• Anxiety and obsessional behaviour
• School refusal or non-attendance
• Bereavement
• Extreme anger
• Family relationship issues

Courses for patients (adults only), including:
• Overcoming low self-esteem (7 sessions)
• Overcoming depression (7 sessions)
• Overcoming anxiety (7 sessions)
• Overcoming social anxiety and shyness (7 sessions)
• Overcoming panic and agoraphobia (9 sessions)
• Overcoming anger problems (7 sessions)

Most of the above courses run weekly to the penultimate session. The social anxiety course runs fortnightly. The last session for each course is scheduled 4 weeks beyond the previous. Each course is for a maximum of 10 people. Each session is 1½ hours. Patients will get most from the group through sharing their own experience with others. All courses are informed by a CBT model. Cost per person is £20 per session.

Patients can self refer or be referred by any practice practitioner by letter, email or phone call.
