Children, Adolescents and Families

Children and adolescents may experience a range of difficulties in growing up. Sometimes these are related to family relationship issues and sometimes to school or peer pressures.

Concerns may include:
• depression
• challenging behaviour
• bullying and peer group difficulties
• eating, sleeping and toileting problems
• anxiety and obsessional behaviour
• school refusal or non-attendance
• bereavement
• extreme anger
• family relationship issues

A chartered psychologist can help families with any of the above issues by providing them with a greater understanding of the current difficulties and by working for a period with an individual child or with the family as a whole in order to reduce the problems.
